Oracle Database Manager will be a Microsoft SQL Server database server. When Oracle Database Manager is installed, it will automatically be installed with all the databases you have installed. This will be a Microsoft SQL Server database server.
This is a huge change to the way people think about Oracle database server. Previously, Oracle Database Manager was tied to a particular database, so you had to uninstall it to uninstall your databases. Now it’s integrated into the main database, and you don’t have to uninstall it, just remove it.
Well, I guess I could see the advantage, but it also means Oracle Database Manager will no longer be able to run other Oracle databases. This makes me sad, because I loved the Oracle Databases. It wasnt always this way…
I dont think Oracle Database Manager was so bad. Its main advantage is that it allowed users to run other databases without having to uninstall it. I think there was a time when people would actually uninstall Oracle Database Manager to uninstall a database to make it go away.
This is a bit of a problem for a lot of us. The problem is that we are in the process of learning about Oracle Database Management Studio (ODBMS). ODBC, which is used to connect to Oracle databases, is now an integral part of ODBC Management Tool (ODBCMT). This means that we can no longer use ODBCMT without installing ODBC.
