For those of you that don’t know, an ocr programmer is a person in the field of remote sensing. This person uses the laser or other technology to scan the earth and determine the shape of land and terrain. The shape is then mapped into a 3D model, and the data is stored on a computer. The results of the scan are then used to create a digital model of your landscape, which is then used to create a 3D map of your area.
It makes sense that someone with programming skills would want to be in this field, but there’s nothing like a bit of training to get you started. You can be an ocr programmer and get your feet wet in the field without ever leaving your house, but it’s always nice to see people on the other side of the fence get the training they need to start out.
Nowadays ocr programmers are generally men, but that was just a lucky combination of gender and the fact that the industry was built on the premise that women aren’t trained to be programmers. In the 1990’s, women started to become more visible in this field and began to be hired in greater numbers. While this is a good thing, it also means that there are many more women who are now working in the field who aren’t involved with programming.
This is a problem because, since the introduction of computer programming, a woman has had to work in a field that is traditionally male dominated. Even in software development, women arent usually hired for technical positions. The reason is because the companies that hire women arent likely to find that their employees are good enough programmers to start them out in the field, but are confident enough in the skills of men to hire them for non-technical jobs.
Thats why ocr programmers are pretty rare. They are a bit more socially acceptable than computer programmers in that theyre considered to be “manly”, which is to say that they have a more masculine role model. The female stereotype is that they are often the ones who get fired.

Its more likely that a female hire is a programmer who works in the office, and not necessarily a programmer who works on ocr. That is, she hasn’t worked on ocr for a long time and has simply been hired for her ability to get things done while the office is still busy.
That’s why I would hire her. She’s just had two jobs – programming for a couple of ocr companies and working as a nanny for a couple of kids.
This is a great example of why women should avoid working in tech companies. In most of the tech jobs if you don’t have some sort of specialized skill in that field, it’s more likely that you have to learn it from scratch. Ocr programmers are a rare breed and they require a lot of specialized skills.
