One of my goals this year was to make more money. I have been doing freelance writing for a couple of years now, and I know it is much easier when you have a lot of different kinds of work to do. You can do so much more than you think you can.
This is a problem that many people have. I recently had to cut back on my freelance work, because I got burned out. But I am also still writing at a higher rate than I was before I got burned out. My main goal was to make it look as lucrative as possible, which meant that I had to write better. I have always written better, but I am also learning what it means to write well. There is a lot of “craft” in writing.
Writing is definitely a craft. A well-written book can sell many times over. I have a few freelance freelance projects I love and that I always take on that I am just getting started with.
I have always written better. I have been a full-time freelance writer for the past twenty years and I’ve never once had a contract. I love how I can freelance anywhere. I enjoy the freedom from being tied down to a standard salary. However, there is always a cost to writing, and I definitely pay it. I can’t honestly say that I have ever written a bad book. I have very few professional books that I just threw out because I didn’t like the cover.
I know it’s a generalization, but I have had bad relationships with editors and agents. They always had an agenda against me and I always had to justify my work. Now, I can pretty much do whatever I want with how I write. I don’t have to go through the process of editing and redoing my work. I can just as easily write as a freelancer.
The only time I have written a professional book is when it wasnt my purpose. I had a contract with a publisher, I had a contract with an editor. I spent months talking to the editor and talking to the publisher. I had no expectations from the publisher at all. I didnt expect to get paid, I didnt expect to get paid for the first project I did. And the editor made me feel like I wasnt good enough.
You can see this in the amount of work that’s usually wasted when you’re trying to edit a book. You might have the whole thing pretty figured out and then realize that you need to fix a typo or two. Or you might have a lot of stuff that works but you still have to fix all the errors. Either way, you’ll find that when you’re editing your own work you’re the one doing the work.
In contrast, I have no interest in paying for my work, but I get paid for it. I dont want to pay for it in order to fix it. At the same time I dont want to pay for what I already do. If I can’t make the edits, I dont want to pay for them. This is because I dont want to pay what I already do.
This is where freelance marketing is huge. If youre not familiar with it, you have a couple of different ways to make money. You can work on freelance marketing projects for a client, or you can go it alone and create your own marketing campaigns for yourself. Either way is fine. The hardest part is finding projects that will pay you, so you can learn what you need to learn to be a freelance marketing consultant. Luckily there are a few sites online that will help you find freelance work.
For that matter, if you’re not familiar with the word “freelancer”, don’t worry. Most freelancers are very short-term freelancers. You may choose to keep working on your own projects for as long as it takes to get a job, and then spend your time doing the work for you.
